Jump Up Ting | Iwer George | Trinidad Carnival 2013

Iwer George is at it again with a very groovy track on a Soca Riddim called 'Soca Future Riddim'. This song tells the story of the typical 'Fete/Reveler' especially as it relates to 'Carnival Fever' taking over as the festival approaches. What is Carnival Fever? Well it is a temporary sickness that take hold of Fete and Carnival lovers every year as the new Carnival season approaches

The script is just the same year after year. People find time and have the energy to fete. They arrive on time and leave late. However, when it comes to work (to earn a living) they arrive late and leave early. During the Carnival season productivity suffers but they always find time to fete and are at their best when it comes to having a good time at the various fete venues.  Iwer tells the story in his song, it is time to wine, hold somebody and wine.

They have money for feting and to pay for their Carnival costumes then after the Carnival is over they cry foul and claim that they are broke. Come Carnival time again and the money is there to fete, go to clubs, play mas and lime. Listen to Iwer and enjoy the vibe.

Lyrics:
The story is in the song. The lyrics tell the story of Carnival lovers and their story, their desire to 'hold somebody and wine'.

Vocals:
Iwer is in control all the way through this song. He sang the song using a very relaxed style. He told his story and will have people grooving to this one. The vocals were very good on this track.

Music/Production:
It is a Carnival rhythm spiced with something extra. However, it is not a Euro vibe as we have been hearing from many of the songs produced and released recently. This one is good and clings, for most of the song, to a retooled Soca Riddim.

Replay Worthiness/Lasting Appeal:
This is Iwer George; this song will get serious airplay on all the radio stations that play Soca music. The various radio jocks have a certain type of respect for Iwer that even Machel Montano cannot command. This song will be played/replayed and will have lasting appeal, at least for Carnival 2013.
