Hail The I | Benjai | Trinidad & Tobago Carnival 2013

This is the latest release from singer Rodney Le Blanc aka Benjai. The song was produced by District 6 Studio  and mastered by MadMen Productions. The music is not traditional Carnival music and brings a Euro Vibe to the market place. This is different but there is something special about this song, the lyrics are good and the musical style is inviting....

I went home and put on my headphones and listened to the song again - what a difference, this song is slamming! The music production is excellent. There is a mixture of Caribbean rhythms with a Euro themed vibe that just works.

The lyrical content is worthy of mention. When we take into consideration the lyrics that most of the music released to date for the upcoming Carnival are sub par/lacking creativity, one must take note of this one. It is a song that invites introspection.

Vocally Benjai is better than he usually is on his tracks. He has stepped up his game and has not only done good but this one deserves to be lauded. Benjai compliments the music and the combination of music and vocals makes for an excellent production. Kudos to District 6 for doing something different; it is not only different, it is damn good!

OK, I know what you are thinking at this point and I get it - this is not Carnival music! Correct, this is not traditional Trinidad and Tobago Carnival music but life is all about change. I am not saying that we must move away from our traditions but when our artists try something different, and it is good, there should be a place of it - acceptance that change is here is a good start.  Thumbs up from for a job well done - Sweet!
