Well according to Wikipedia Punta music is "Garifuna music and dance style performed at celebrations and festive occasions. Contemporary punta, including Belizean punta".
I first heard this song on islandmix.com but they listed it as Zouk! I had to look up the artist and came across some of the information presented here - the music is called "Punta" and it is the music of Central America. If I am correct I think the Garifuna are a mixture of Carib and Arawak and African people originally from the island of St. Vincent. However, the British administration relocated these 'Black Caribs' to Central America.
