Coming Over | Kes The Band

This song by Kes has a little bit of this and a little bit of that... Well, it listed as a Soca/Zouk translation of our musical melting pot. I don't know if this one has anything special about it but It is different.

Did someone say shades of David Rudder with this one? I don't know but it is a good production. I don't think that it will be a party rocker but it will get its fair share of air play.

If this song was done by a not too well known artiste then I don't believe the radio stations would have paid attention to it. However, because it is Kes the Band, it is considered an 'eye opener to new music'. I am sure that you have your own opinion... Please leave a comment and it will be attached to this post.

"Coming Over", written by Kes Dieffenthaller and Shal Marshall for carnival 2012. This is a madmen production with Kes the Band. The song is presented here for your listening pleasure and for promotional purposes only.

Addendum:
OK, I have listened to this song a few times and must admit that the "different" theme that I mentioned in my post adds something nice to the song but just when I began to enjoy the music it was done, damn! So here is my new assessment. The lyrics are typical but has a nice ring to it and can be considered very good carnival lyrics. The difference that makes this song nice is the twist to the music. The organ and the general swagger in the music give the song a nice feel. Kes invites people to "bring yuh tail down here" which is a very good promotional tool for the upcoming Carnival. On a rating scale this one gets high praises from me.. It took some time though!
