May 24 is Election Day in Trinidad and Tobago

The anxiety is over and the battle begins in earnest to win the hearts and minds of the citizens of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago for control of the government. People are torn because of loyalty to the ruling PNM and the fact that so much turmoil has gripped the current administration and the specter of a combined opposition that could be rife with infighting and jockeying for positions of power in that body.The cry of the people who believe in the PNM is "we know what we have but we don't know what we will get". On the other hand the UNC/Alliance wants people to remember that they ruled the country when oil was  $9.00 a a barrel and they left the treasury with a surplus. The election date is set and the race begins in earnest.
