Dookeran to become President | The Trinidad Guardian

I do hope that this is pure speculation because Mr. Dookeran as President is a waste of his talent. If this alliance of opposition forces should be so fortunate to win the next general elections then they need every able bodied person in places of importance and Mr. Dookeran's place is in finance. Then again how can a deal be made for the Presidency when it is an elected position?  I believe that this is simply mischief created by the press - pure speculation.
“The constitution states clearly how a president is elected. The fact is you need to have a majority in Parliament to elect a president. “If people make an agreement like that, then you will have to draw up something like a contract, and I do not see anybody going to court with such a contract, because it would not look good on both sides.”

Now is the time to tell the people about the plans for the development of the country in terms of hospital services, food security (we must grow more of our food), a better water supply, better traffic regulation with additional transportation infracture, jobs for those in need and the eradication of the crime spree now infecting the country.

I don't want to hear about the Presidency now - this is not the time for this figure head position. Talk about limiting the terms that a Prime Minister can serve and tell me who will be the government ministers so that I can access who I want to govern the country. Let's deal with the issues not how the pie will be shared - remember Mr. Manning is an intelligent politician who understands the psyche of the people of Trinidad and Tobago - watch out!
