Labor Day Carnival 2020 | New York City Goes Virtual

Carriacou and Trinidad & Tobago experienced the real thing for 2020, carnival as we know it should be,  but the rest of the Caribbean basin, as well as England and North America, had to improvise and go virtual. Sigh, Covid-19 has wreaked havoc on our will to live life to its fullest but we improvise and celebrate all the same. This is the time that Brooklyn, NYC is pumping to Soca and the excitement has reached its tipping point. That is not the case for 2020. We don't complain, we play music and celebrate virtually (some are still feting in Brooklyn...shhh!).

No Carnival, No big thing; the spirit of Carnival is in the air! Every carnival lover, people of the Caribbean basin living in New York City know that there is still a buzz in the air and the vibe still feels like a carnival in Brooklyn, New York City! Log on and feel the vibe...

Labor Day Virtual Carnival 2020 | Brooklyn, New York for Monday, September 07, 2020

Part of the buzz party:
GoodDay New York featured KES The Band on their programming; we smiled and took a wine for that! West Indians who love their carnival celebrations are hurting but are having a good time watching virtual events put on by WIADCA online.  We feature a few clips for your weekend entertainment.

From YouTube:
This is Brass Fest 2020; this is your virtual New York Carnival 2020 presented by WIADCA. It is a unique experience this year but it remains your New York Carnival.

Welcome to our Caribbean culture as envisioned by WIADCA! This virtual show is hosted by MC Wassy and Giselle D Wassi One! It is an experience that requires 'No curtain', 'No fancy stage' but just pure LOVE and Vibes.  So sit back, relax, have your drinks on hand and celebrate with your Soca heros.

But wait, we are West Indians! So let's do what we do best, celebrate! You, yes you, move the chairs, make some space and prepare to wine and dance to the talent on display. Do this in safety, distanced at home, enjoy Caribbean music Ambassadors Tabou Combo, Kes the Band, Nailah Blackman, Teddyson John, Farmer Nappy, DJ Stakz, and more as they bring Soca, Afrobeats, Reggae & Kompa sounds direct to you!
