What We Go Do | Runi Jay | Grenada 2020

Oh my, Carnival is canceled for 2020! What We Go Do? Covid-19 has done a number on all Carnival in the Caribbean region and North America for the year 2020. Trinidad and Tobago and Carriacou managed to get away with their festival before the Pandemic shut down the World. We shed a tear but life goes on and we all have to cope to make it through the heartache.
The Island of Grenada, with its signature 'Spice Mas Brand', fell victim to virus-like everyone else but felt the pain with the cancellation of Spice Mas 2020. However, no carnival does not mean that there can't be musical vibes to celebrate the culture of the nation; and, for that reason, we are here today to post new music from Grenada.

This song, entitled "What We Go Do" was released this week by the artiste known as Runi Jay. This song got to the heart of the problem for those who live for the festival. The question was asked regarding the official 'nonstarter carnival days for 2020'. How will carnival lovers in Grenada deal with the fact that when Carnival Monday and Tuesday arrive and quarantine requires the carnival massive to stay inside? The angst can be felt across the carnival divide. This is a historic year for the Spice Isle when they have to stay inside for carnival 2020.

We love the idea behind the song, we are excited about the musical niceness coming from the 'Delight Riddim' produced by Kay Frass. Runi Jay along with background singers Kirton 'Alma Boy' Roberts and Shaquera Taylor delivered vocals that are pleasant to anyone listening to the song. Kudos to the songwriting team, the production team, and everyone who had input with the delivery of this very likable track. Well done guys!
