The Caribbean itself is a medley of cultures, including Creole. Paying homage to the aforementioned, MistaRoots channels not only a distinctive sound, but the appropriate title as well. In Souflét Riddim, the characteristic whistle is the unmistakable star, melodically coercing all other instruments into the role of supporting cast. As Souflét is the Creole word for whistle, the continuous concept falls right into alignment!
Benjai, Jamesy P, and Mario Toussaint all deliver stellar contributions. The three tracks are as diverse as the West Indies, nonetheless each one is a perfect complement to the style of riddim. There is an expected quality of the productions hailing from Wiz Records, however MistaRoots has perhaps outdone himself with the level of creative genius demonstrated here!
