Carnival is back again and the riddims are beginning to emerge to compete for the big prize of most popular and infectious riddim to 'play yuhself' for Carnival 2014. This Groovy Soca vibe comes to you from Martian Music and the artists chosen are well known singers who have etched their names in the Carnival psyche in Trinidad and Tobago and the United States (Brooklyn Labor Day Carnival). 

If you are a fan of a sweet rhythm then you will love the vibe. The songs themselves did not leave a lasting impression after I listened to them but the music has a vibe that should do well. Added to the mix it bodes well that the artists voices are familiar which only help with any promotion!

I like the music and the songs are good but I don't think I heard anything to blow me away! Nadia Batson is the most popular artist on this riddim and it is very possible that her offering could be the first song to get traction on the radio stations. Regardless of what anyone think the general public will have the final say. Having said that it is obvious that we will have to wait and see what happens with this riddim. Do you think it will have an impact and be a memorable one or do you think it will be quickly forgotten? Take a listen and judge for yourself.
