Machel Montano is the Trinidad and Tobago Groovy Soca Monarch for Carnival 2013. Machel retains the title he won last year. The results were announced early this morning. Congratulations are extended to Machel Montano!

The show that was believed to have the best talent and songs turned out to be a bit of  a disappointment. The Groovy Soca segment did not fell like it was really competitive this year. Maybe it was because the video feed was so bad and it was so frustrating to follow the performances on stage. 

Carnival TV was a disappointment and the other feed that were available kept buffering and cutting the performances to run advertising (sometimes in the middle of the performance). The radio feed from Vibe CT 105 was good but everyone wanted to see and hear the performances. This may have been the reason the show did not live up to the advertised billing for those of us watching outside of Trinidad. 

The artists finished in the following order:

3. ♫ Dexter ‘Blaxx’ Stewart - No Getaway
4. ♫ Ravi ‘Ravi B’ Bissambhar - Prescription
