Possessed | Machel & Kerwin W. Ladysmith Black Mambazo

I love this song! Listen to this very sweet song produced by the very talented Kerwin Dubois. The vocals on the track feature the voices of Machel Montano HD, Kerwin Dubois and the world renowned male choral group from South Africa, Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

The harmonic expressions are moving and the blending of vocal styles should fuel an enduring love for the art-form. There is hope simply because of  this song; a song that is brilliantly executed by Kerwin and Machel with the great Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Let me add that this is a 'feel good song' that should bring redemption for anyone in need of it (wink).

I expect a new desire, from those living abroad, for the music we love and know as Soca. I have a good feeling that when this song spreads across all territorial and musical borders people will want to hear more of this musical genre - Soca for everyone! The desire for the music should expand tremendously because of this collaboration of talent from the African Continent and the Caribbean Region (especially Trinidad & Tobago). Machel and Kerwin have done us proud with this one and it is a keeper - I love this song!

Santi - this is my reference point for this song, and why Possessed disappoints me.

The vibe is a soca - mbaqanga.

The timing of the 1990 album was uncanny. Mandela was released form prison in February 1990. I recall watching it live on TV. Those powerful images, combined with Rudder's powerful lyrics made an indelible impression on a young mind.

If you don't have that album in your collection, add it now.
