If you don't pay attention then this one will 'pass over your head' and you may be left wondering what Kurt Allen was singing about. This is one of those Calypsos that is loaded with information but is crafted in such a manner that you have to pay attention to grasp the high order of this composition. Now that is the problem with this calypso! If Kurt sings this one for the Calypso Monarch competition and he does not get the expected reception from the audience it is because people did not get comfortable and listened to the song previously. Another reason may be because they are simply not getting the opportunity to hear the song on the radio. Why? Simply put, they are not playing it!

This is not one of those that one can easily discern the message from the singer. This, in effect, could be the roadblock that Kurt will have to face when he delivers during the qualifying rounds of the Calypso competition. People are not 'dumbed down', they simply want the hook early and they want it to be easily understood. The hook is very important and the for this song it may simply pass over the heads (and understanding) of the vast majority of listeners. 

Take a listen and absorb the vibe from this one because with calypsos, all stories are told, all lies are exposed and no one, no politician can escape the wrath of a talented calypsonian. A calypsonian who understands the art and can deliver, on point to the chagrin and disdain of many in the hot seat - a calypsonian like Kurt Allen!

Addendum:
This is a wake up (damn Lastbadjohh of Calypso, yuh wicked) addition to this blog post! After listening to this song I am amazed that people are not on board with Kurt Allen and this above excellent composition. This is a wicked Calypso! Not only does it have the biting lyrics of a lyrical masterpiece but the music on this tract is deviously sweet and bouncy. I really like this calypso because it has the total package of excellent lyrics and very, very sweet music!
