NA NA | Big George | Trinidad & Tobago Carnival 2013

Take a musical journey with Big George as he starts with a new age vibe, then slowly takes you on this musical trip right into the bosom of a Baptiste rhythm woven into a sweet 'SoCalypso' vibe. I really like this song; it reminds me of the Super Blue glory days and rocks your body with a driving Carnival vibe... the rhythm is guaranteed to make you groove!

Today we have a movement that is taking us away from what is considered traditional sounds. There is a movement to create a new vibe that is palatable to the North American music market. There is nothing wrong in trying to penetrate the biggest music market in the World but why not do it with a sweet traditional rhythm? This song and rhythm done by Big George gives an insight into that which can be achieved if we look within. We have what it takes to create sweet music. We can continue to take from the North American and European markets but this local rhythm is just as good, if not better.

I love this concept of Big George/Victorious with the creation of this sweet rhythmically sound track. We need to remind ourselves of the time when people like Super Blue created havoc in South Trinidad with his infectious Baptiste Soca rhythms. This is one time that a rhythm like that used in "Na Na" can have real impact on the direction we should take for our music.

Good luck to Big George and let us hope that this song lights a fire for productions that incorporate these sweet rhythms that are lying dormant in our musical industry in Trinidad and Tobago. Let us not forget tha Kerwin Du Bois's talent was also instrumental in the final production of the sweet track.
