Good Love | Lyma Dunbar | Trinidad Carnival 2013

This is a really nice song done by Lyma Dunbar. When something is well done all one can do is say congratulations and for this song Lyma deserves the credit.  Her voice is strong and sweet at the same time. This is one song where the vocals stand out and the music is simply there to compliment the sweet vocals on the track.
I have to give it up to Lyma for the perfect singing score on this track. Now having said that, I am not too taken with the music on the track. There is this 'scratch sound on the drum riddim' that simply stands out a little too strong. If it was not for Lyma's strong singing performance on the track I would have said that they overdid it on the drum set! I believe that the Production for this one was done by Precision Productions. They are the market leaders; who am I to question their work?

Everyone is a critic but for those who love good singing it is easy to recognize a very good singer and a song that was well executed - Good Love by Lyma Dunbar fits the bill.

Lyrics:
Good love and I need a man to give me good love came around a little too much but I will give the lyrics a pass on this one. I am not a hater even though  I thought they had an opportunity to score big with the lyrics on this one.

Vocals:
Strong and done really well. Lyma's vocal performance is the key to this song. She makes the entire song shine with her excellent vocal performance.

Now whatever you may think or feel about this song I have a strong feeling that this song will not get a fair shake on the radio stations in Trinidad. I sense a change is in the air and we are hearing a lot of Euro and Techno rhythms in the new music. This song takes the traditional route but with a very upbeat rhythm.  I do wish Lyma good luck with this song... I like it!
