Give Me That Thing | Terri Lyons | Trinidad Carnival 2013

Here comes Terri Lyons with the signature Madmen vibe supporting her vocals on a track titled 'Give Me That Thing'. Something about the song does not feel right; it is like a bulb that provides light but it is just not bright enough.
Something simply does not feel right about this production. I like the song but is does not sound vibrant! It sounds like a bootleg copy of an original work. It is like the movie copies sold in Manhattan by those Chinese merchants where you expect to see a good movie but the quality just stinks. Now this does not mean that I don't like the song, it just feels like something is missing! I usually like to hear the drum set on tracks especially the high hat and cymbals. Maybe that is my issue with the track.

I listened to the song on my computer speakers and thought that it had to be the speakers so I moved on to my headphones. The bass is sweet and Terri does a good job with the vocals but the brightness of the drum set especially the high hat is lacking from this one - to me that makes it sound dull! Fix that and this track will mash up the place - which guy that you know who does not want to 'get that thing'?
