Dance | Zoelah | Trinidad/St.Vincent 2013

Vincy Soca artiste Zoelah has found her way back to the land of her birth, Trinidad, where she produced her latest track simply titled, "Dance". The song was produced by Reon d Juggernut of Studio 12 out of Trinicity, Trinidad. The musical style follows that which much of the newly released tracks out of TnT have established for Carnival 2012 - a techno fusion style of music.  The music has a Euro rhythm with a Caribbean flavor courtesy the vocal style.

These new music releases done by producers across the land are not typical Carnival style music. The Trinidad producers are pushing the limits to what is acceptable Carnival style music and seem determined to change the direction of the music. It is interesting that they initially started with what was termed Trini Island Pop but have now produced music with a distinct Euro flavor. Zoelah, a Trinidadian by birth but nurtured in St. Vincent (her homeland) has now taken the plunge with her Trinidadian counterparts. These are interesting musical times indeed... what will they do next?

This song is a Soca/Euro fusion style and will be labeled a Soca track for marketing purposes. I don't know how I really feel about this song but Zoelah did a very good job with her vocal on the track. Surely this is a song for the clubs and I don't see it having any effect on any Carnival fete.  Who knows what the future has in store for us but as of this moment I have to put this one in the club scene.
