Crossover | Fayann Feat. E. Yearwood | Trinidad 2013

Now that we are getting some of the faster paced music people appear to be a bit confused about the speed and or if they like the music at all. The featured song today is titled "Crossover" and some listeners are unassured that it will, in fact,  'crossover' and become the hit song that the artists and producers hope to achieve.

This is the new Fayann Lyons-Alvarez track that features Barbadian singer Edwin Yearwood - people are not sure what to make of it. This is a road warrior song so prepare for an aggressive jump up and get on crazy road frenzy with this track. So how will this one do in the party scene? I don't see this one having much impact in the fete scene but it should be madness on the road!

Of course, as one would expect, there is a thread on Islandmix about the song. I commented on the  thread saying the following: "Two big names and the song has pace but what is there that is sweet bout it"? The comments that followed from the  Islandmix thread tell the 'wait and see' story: "I like it", "way too fast", "where did I say it sweet", "it's OK, it will have to grow on me"  and  "no sweetness there but it will be good for the road". Usually when a song hits the sweet spot people show their approval immediately. In this case, people are unwilling to commit early and show guarded optimism in some instances.

We have a Trinidadian artiste with a featured Barbadian superstar singing a song produced by St. Lucia's Studio 758. The main ingredients are in place for the making of something special but the question remains, did they hit the sweet spot?  This is one that you will have the final say on especially if you are a fan of Fayanne and Edwin Yearwood.
