Come Fuh Di Wuk | Voice & Machel Montano | T'dad 2013

"Come Fuh Di Wuk" is the name of this track that was released tonight on Islandmix with singers 'Voice' and Machel Montano providing the vocals. This song has a nice pace, not slow and not too fast - the pace is just right. Of course the production is a fusion of techno and Soca rhythms. Do I like this song? Yes I do but I just don't get any Carnival vibe from the music. The vocals say, "I am Carnival" but the music vibe just does not say, "Fete Music"!

Most of the new music seems  to be heading in this direction and it may confuse many persons heading to fetes for carnival and hearing a song like this one.

The problem is very a very simple one and it has to do with the vibe that the music translates to in Carnival fetes to come. A song like this one should do well in a club scene however, this will surely confuse people in a fete scene. This is not fete music, it is club music. People go to carnival fetes to drink, feel nice and have a good time. Yes, that is the same reason they head to the clubs but Carnival fetes are notorious for their frenetic carnival pace. A club scene simply cannot compare.

Final Take:
Club Music - Yes!
Fete Music - Not really Soca, not really Fete music/really does not feel like a Carnival vibe. No!
