This song is titled 'Anything Soca' and I have a problem with that... where is the Soca in this music? Now I know I said that the singers will blur the line with the new music regarding the music genres but why name the song 'Anything Soca" when the name should have been "Anything But Soca"! OK, seems like I did not have a good night but this one goes under "Alternative Trini Vibe" for me!
Another Carnival production with no vision for the International market. The foreigners are not interested in wining and drinking in a fete.... this is a Carnival Song. Oh, and by the way (as a Carnival song), I like the production but don't tell me that this is Soca (Lord Shorty is probably restless on the other side) ... OK! I am not a bitter person but call it as I 'hear it'. I will now calm the the bridge over troubled waters; call it 'New Wave Soca' (as a marketing tool) with emphasis on 'New Wave' to keep the youth happy... I am out for now.
