"Born Imtiaz, February 17,Grand Turk,Turks and Caicos Islands. Attended Alpha Boys School in Kingston Jamaica, where his love for reggae music was born. There he joined the famous Alpha Boys Band, learned drums and also joined the choir.

While still in school on his summer breaks, Imtiaz b.k.a Smooth.T a.k.a Monkey Baag, played and performed with some of Grand Turk's biggest bands at that time including,High Tide and Spicy Bands.

After graduating he left Jamaica went back to the Turks and Caicos and worked as a radio disc jockey and personality for W.P.R.T 88.7fm. In 1998 he auditioned and got a job as a cabaret performer at Sandles/Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort and Spa, where he entertained guest for the next four years,before leaving to migrate to the U.S for the next two years.

On his return Smooth.T recorded a string of hits locally including Heathen Run, Bad Woman and a remake of Neyo's 'You should let me love you' in lovers rock reggae. During this time he also joined Turks and Caicos hottest band Shocking Vybz, house band at Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort and Spa as a vocalist/drummer.

Smooth.T spent the next four years performing for audiences through out the islands, opening for many acts such as Gregory Isaacs, Morgan Heritage, Buju Banton Byron Lee and many more.

When Digicel launched in the Turks and Caicos Smooth.T was chosen as the only local act to grace the stage at their launch party, opening for acts such as Akon and Shaggy."
