Well enough of that, how about the song? Well there are two calypsonians in Trini land that I really like to listen today. One is DeFosto and the other is Kurt Allen. I like Defosto because he reminds me of Lord Kitchener and like it or not he is the Calypsonian for the pan-men. Kurt is the man to get under your skin. He examines and teaches when he sings his songs. This is not a simple individual but a man who watches and just like the great ones who went before is able to chart a course that would cause the listeners to say, "kaiso, kaiso". That, dear friends, is a call for an encore.
"Roots - Let's talk about" is just that, a topic for discussion but a discussion that will be seen in a different light or color based on your race. People have a tendency to side 'with their kink' when the discussion centers on race relationships. People, even if they believe some is wrong, will tend to 'go with their own' and this is the same for the Indians and Africans... the Douglas could be the exception.
